Lavender fields in Grimme.

We currently have three lavender fields.

The first is already a mature field of 0.5 hectares with more than 2000 plants of two varieties.

The second field is a 1000 m2 trial field where we test 7 varieties of lavender in our climate with 1000 plants.

Field number 3 of 2.2 hectares is currently planted with 12,000 plants of one variety. All of our areas are experimental as we research insects in this new niche culture, implement a new way of protecting the environment, and test new machines for harvesting and processing plants.

The most important thing for us is not to use fertilizer and to take care of the animals that live in our fields (there are even some bird nests in the lavender bushes).

Our beginnings

In 2017 we already planted biennial plants. Our family and friends helped us bravely.

The most active residents from Grimme were also present - thank you for that.

First Lavender Harvest Festival

The first lavender harvest was attended by about 30 people. It was mainly family members, friends and residents from Grimme.

Second Lavender Harvest Festival

In July 2019 over 200 people came to visit us.

It was a great family event. We wonder what will happen in 2020!?!?!

Lavendel-Workshop

We conducted the first test lavender workshops in 2019. First we were all harvesting lavender in the field and then the participants made wreaths and lavender sticks themselves. There was a wonderful smell in the air...

We will continue the workshops in the years to come.
